Cottonland Castle

Cottonland Castle

The historic Cottonland Castle at 3300 Austin Ave, Waco, TX 76710, is a renowned landmark. Named for the city's cotton industry, the house is now home to Chip and Joanna Gaines, who are also owners of Magnolia Market and Magnolia Table. While the Gaines sisters haven't revealed how they will use the castle, they told Business Insider that they will continue to renovate it and provide it to local residents.

In 2017, Joanna Gaines and her husband, Jack Schwan, purchased the ruined tower for $5 million. They used the property for youth programs before selling it to Kim Littlewood, who was then nine years old. They spent months restoring the castle and turning its servant's quarters into a used car dealership. Next article post.

Since its purchase by Magnolia Realty, the historic castle has undergone extensive renovations. The previous owners, the Pipkin family, were the first women pharmacists in the state. The two women remained in the Castle for years and worked in its pharmacy. The castle is now open to the public, and you can enjoy the historic ambiance. But it isn't an easy task. There's a lot of work to do before the new owners can move in.

Before a new owner takes over, you should find out what the history of the building is all about. For example, a nine-foot-high oak door weighs more than 400 pounds. A new owner, Dirk Obbink, and Sterling Johnson, began refurbishing the castle in 2014 and completed the renovations in 2019. But what's most important is that the structure remains a historical landmark, and it will be a beautiful place for generations to come.

The Pipkin family owned a southwest chain of drugstores. In 1913, they purchased the unfinished structure. After selling the property to a cotton broker, they made several changes to the building. The newly constructed castle is three stories, with a basement and eight fireplaces. It has a basement and servants' quarters. Despite its rich history, the castle has fallen into disrepair and is still a popular tourist destination in the city.

The original frame of the house was constructed in 1890. The house included three stories, eight fireplaces, and servants' quarters. The architecture of the house was inspired by a small German castle along the Rhine River. It was built using white sandstone and limestone, with a few accents from various countries. The interiors of the Cottonland Castle were decorated with many imported materials from all over the world.

The castle was originally constructed in the 1800s. Its construction was not completed until 1904. Its current status is considered to be a museum. The site is a great place to visit and has a history that dates back to the late 17th century. The castle is the home of the Texas State Fair.
